First round of Special Accreditation of Non-Governmental Organizations and Other Stakeholders
The first round of special accreditation for stakeholder organizations to participate in the UN 2023 Water Conference resulted with 440 non-governmental organizations, civil society organizations, academic institutions, scientific community, the private sector and philanthropic organizations having been approved by the United Nations General Assembly to participate as observers in the Conference. The final list was submitted by the President of the General Assembly to all Member States on 24 August (see here). A second round of special accreditation is planned for 31 October – 2 December 2022. For more information, please check here.

The United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) has published the second newsletter of the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) Regional Water Expert Group. It highlights new publications and events that seek to accelerate SDG 6. It also provides inputs to the LAC Regional Water Dialogues in January 2023 as well as the UN 2023 Water Conference.
