Dear colleagues,
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), in partnership
with the United Nations Foundation, will convene the 2023 Global Humanitarian Policy Forum (GHPF), which will take place on 14-15 December and will be held virtually (9:00 AM - 12:00 PM EST).
Since 2012, the GHPF has convened members of the humanitarian community and experts from other fields to anticipate future trends, launch new policy ideas and explore the practical challenges and opportunities of shifting policy to practice in crisis contexts.
The event will kick off with a high-level panel discussion that will examine the consequences of the current local crises on the global landscape, marked by intersecting geo-political, security, health and socio-economic challenges. This will be followed by a series of interactive thematic discussions on key emerging trends and challenges for humanitarian action – focusing on issues such as the growing humanitarian impact of the climate crisis and community driven localization approaches as part of OCHA’s Flagship Initiative.
